New Security Firm Moves Opens Northwest BranchIn Colorado Springs
by: Brent Briggerman

After months of negotiation with Colorado Springs city council, plans have been finalized to welcome the Lone Star Private Security firm to open it's northwest branch in the developing southeast area of Colorado Springs. While the location of the branch's office have not yet been announced, Lone Star's central offices out of Corpus Christi has released memos indicating that 2.3 Million dollars would be be budgeted for the construction of a new facility, and local construction firms would be hired to build the structure, which is to include on-site training facilities.

"We are proud that an agreement could be reached to base our facilities in Colorado Springs. Quite frankly, I can't imagine a more beautiful place to be station, or a better city to be working with. We are looking forward to joining The Springs community, and helping to provide capable security and help this city's citizens feel safe in these dangerous times.", said Lone Star's northwest branch manager, Gus Lindstrom, in a joint press release with Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach, who expressed his eagerness at welcoming the company, who has stated plans to open a minimum of 300 jobs.

Garou Packs of the Colorado Springs-Hidden Glade area

Garou Packs
One of the aspects that make Garou so dangerous is their relationship with their pack members, their closest family, closer than even blood kin. Packs can sometimes be temporary, but more often than not, persist on until their are too few members left to properly function. These packs are bound together by spirit totems, and often have some sort of goal they work towards. These goals may be as broad and unreachable as, "Free The Wyrm from The Weaver's Bonds" or as short-term as "Raid the nightclub and kill all the bloodsucking leeches." These are the known packs of the Colorado Springs - Hidden Glade region.
The Union Street Goodfellows

Bound together by Mother Rat, these Garou are viewed with more disdain than most other Bone Gnawers, for they are known to have abandoned their duty to Gaia, and have instead dedicated themselves to helping the poor and downtrodden of Colorado Springs.
The Goodfellows see things differently, believing that every person they give shelter and aid too, is one less soul for the Wyrm to infest.
  • Grandfather Hank "Silvertorn" Beasly- (Homid, Philodox, Bone Gnawer, Elder) - A small white man with a slight stoop, he is mostly bald with tufts of white hair sticking out from under his blue beanie. He wears a heavy blue & black plaid jacket, a large maroon scarf wrapped around his neck many times, and dirty mustard-yellow corduroy pants. He speaks with a raspy voice, often interrupted by a hacking cough. He is a mild Garou, often letting others of lesser rank order him around with a minimum of grumbling or shame.
  • Kato "Hard-Bargain" Lin- (Homid, Philodox, Bone Gnawer, Athro)- A young Asian-American male in his early 20s, Kato has black hair, dark slanted eyes, and light yellow skin typical of his heritage. If not for the company he keeps, he might not be immediately recognized as a Bone Gnawer. His clothing is fairly clean, his odor kept in check, and he has a certain respectable manner about him. Usually seen in a plain black shirt with a denim jacket and a Colorado Rockies ballcap, he always carries a baseball bat with him, with the words "Rent Collector" on it.
  • Cara "Takes-What-She-Wants"- (Metis, Ragabash, Bone Gnawer, Fostern)- A rather eerie looking girl of African descent, she has filthy shoulder-length dreadlocks, a smattering of discolored freckles across her ebony face, and a mouth full of rotting teeth. Her nails are also noticeable in that they are long, yellow and brittle looking. She wears an oversized tshirt with the word "Valdeez" written on it in yellow writing, beneath a black frock coat and grimy blue jeans that have several patches sewn onto them. Cara speaks little to those outside her pack, but often stares at others with a creepy look in her eye.
  • Stan "Piano-Chucker" Hebowitz- (Metis, Ahroun, Bone Gnawer, Fostern)- The most striking member of the Goodfellows, Piano-Chucker stands at just an inch over 7 feet tall, with the muscle mass of a professional boxer. He has a complete lack of hair, even eyebrows, and nearly every inch of flesh from the beck down is decorated in tattoos. He has numerous piercing around his eyes, nose, chin, and lip. His clothing is a brown t-shirt with the Anarchist symbol, grungy blue jeans, and a pair of gray steel-tipped boots. Despite his bizarre appearance, Stan is friendly and forgiving, if not more than a little bit dumb.
  •  Javier "Miscellaneous Parts" Santos- (Homid, Galliard, Bone Gnawer, Fostern)- A short Mexican man, Javier speaks with a thick accent. He is pudgier than most Garou. He wears an old shirt beneath greased stained overalls with a name patch of "Sal" sewn into them. The pockets are filled with tools and small metal parts. Javier is very friendly, and seems to ignore most insults thrown his way and is eager to share his mechanical knowledge of cars and heavy machinery with others.
  • Richard "Clobbers-The-Bane-To-Death"- (Homid, Ahroun, Bone Gnawer, Adren)- Thickly built, this 30-something male has perpetual black rings beneath his eyes, a long mop of black hair, and a very thick full beard. His fists are the size of boston hams, and his hands show years of hard work with built up callouses. He wears a dark green rain slicker jacket, and black denim jeans with a pair of old black boots. Richard is extremely quiet, and seems to take in much more than he puts out for others to hear.
  • Eddie "Purse Snatcher" Simmons-(Homid, Ragabash, Bone Gnawer, Cliath) - Young by human standards, Eddie is just 17 years old, and still displays the hallmark traits of a teenage youth. He is rude and disrespectful to those not of his pack. His head is shaved on the sides, leaving one patch of greasy hair down the middle that ends in a ponytail. He wears a ratty looking pleather jacket, with a black t-shirt featuring the picture of a heavy metal death band. His eyes are slightly squinted, his nose pointed and his mouth just a little too small for his face, giving him the vague appearance of a rat.
  • Lando "Lands-On-The-Wyrm"- (Metis, Ahroun, Bone Gnawer, Fostern)- A light-skinned black male in his early 20s, he has a muscular physique, a frohawk dyed a dingy shade of yellow, and brown eyes. Despite the cold weather of Colorado Springs, he is usually seen wearing just a black wife-beater and stained cargo shirts with black sneaker shoes. Most times, he is set apart from his pack, and his interaction with non-Bone Gnawers is usually limited to hostile, challenging remarks.
  • Kristy Sherman-(Homid, Philodox, Bone Gnawer, Cub)- A young girl of just 15, Kristy has clearly not been traveling with the Bone Gnawers long, as she still maintains grooming habits. She has bright blue eyes, long blonde hair that spills out from under he pink knit beanie, and wears a matching pink winter jacket. She has an infectious smile, full of hope, and a bubbly personality

Goldrinn's Biters

Followers of Lion, a totem of respect, Goldrinn's Biters has earned a reputation as some of the fiercest Garou in the Northwest region. Their pack is dedicated to hunting down and slaying Black Spiral Dancers. They have played pivotal roles in the destruction of five hives, but often at great costs; the pack is known to have a high turn-over rate, having lost nine members since it's creation.

  • Henry "Spear-Through-The-Center-Of-The-Spiral" Argonaught - (Homid,Ahroun,Get of Fenris, Athro)- A grizzled man of fifty, he has white hair buzzed short, with several bare spots around his skull from battlescars. He wears a thick blue workman's shirt and a red & black plaid jacket-vest, which strains to conceal his chiseled form. A bold tribal tattoo of the Fenrir glyph is displayed on his right shoulder in all forms, but surrounding the marking are a number of skin discolorations, more signs of hard fought battles. He is the last surviving member of the original pack, and jokingly calls himself the next to go. Despite his fierce appearance, he is very genial.
  • "Calm Streams, Rushing River- (Lupus, Theurge, Child of Gaia, Adren)- Beautiful by any standard of the word, this feminine wolf has a sleek pelt of shimmering silvers, grays and whites. She carries herself with a certain calm and grace unusual to Garou. Perhaps it is her pedigree, or some sort of spiritual effect, but she seems to radiate a sense of calmness wherever she goes.
  • Jabari "Tendon-Slicer" Baioumi- (Homid, Ragabash, Silent Strider, Adren)- Small, thin and somewhat fragile looking, this dark-skinned Egyptian boy is the youngest of the pack, perhaps only as old as seventeen. He has a tangled mess of dark brown hair and deep brown eyes. He dresses in a plain brown t-shirt and jeans, and carries a tote bag with him. A silver dagger hangs from his belt, his signature weapon.
  • Curtis "Greets-The-Wyrm-With-A-Grin"Holiday- (Homid, Ragabash, Get of Fenris, Adren)- A wiry man in his late 30s, he has pale skin, a shaved head and a thick mustache. He wears a trucker cap, and usually wears aviator glasses, to hide his very noticeable lupine eyes. He wears a light camo jacket over a dark green shirt, and camo fatigues. He is always toting around his duffel bag, loaded with a variety of guns. Curtis has a strange way about turning all conversation into ones about government conspiracies, U.F.O. theories, and other bizarre ideas.
  • Alvin "Leaves-No-Survivors" Sheffield- (Homid, Ahroun, Fianna, Cliath)- A young man of 20, Alvin has a wild tangle of red hair, a pale complexion, and green eyes with a wide smile. Alvin is a man of excess, reveling in "booze, battle, and babes" as he says. He wears a thick garnet sweater, and heavy denim jeans.
  • Skadi "Songs-Of-The-Snowy-Peaks" Poulssen- (Homid, Ahroun, Get of Fenris, Cliath)- A stunningly beautiful woman of pure Get pedigree, Skadi is the living embodiment of the wild and untamed Fenrir. She has platinum hair in a long, thick braid down to her back, and her eyes are an icy blue. Her facial features are those found on a Scandinavian model, and her body is perfectly toned for combat. Her voice is that of an angel, and she is fond of singing ancient songs in the midst of battle.
The Winds of Change
Guided by a strange and enigmatic wind spirit of which they share little information about, The Winds of Change Pack is dedicated to seeking out unknown places belonging to the Wyld and harnessing them to aid the Gaian cause.
  • Sheila "Won't-Back-Down" Winters- (Homid, Galliard, Black Fury, Adren)- A striking and intense woman, she has piercing green eyes and coal-black hair down to her shoulders. Her skin tone is slightly olive in color, and her body is toned like that of an Amazonian of lore. She wears a black sports bra, and khaki capris, and carries a klaive marked with the Black Fury glyph. Sheila carries herself with a surety that often puts her in an alpha position, without needing the acknowledgment of others; Garou seem to fall in line and accept her as leader.

  • Matteo "Old Steady Hands"- (Homid, Philodox, Shadow Lord, Athro)- Tall and thin in homid form, Matteo is very pale with a pencil mustache, and solid wavy black hair. He remains calm even in the most stressful situations, and has an aura about him that spreads that calmness to others. He wears a black turtleneck, and black jeans with black industrial boots.
  • Never-Breaks-A-Pact, Never-Forgets-A-Grudge, a.k.a NeverNever- (Lupus, Theurge, Black Fury, Adren)- A mottled and gray and grown wolf, she seems to be hardly paying attention to the world around her, as if her mind drifts elsewhere. She frequently seems to be communicating with those who are not present, never bothering to answer questions as to who she is speaking with.
  • Latonya "Splinters-The-Rotting-Oak" Jackson- (Homid, Theurge, Shadow Lord, Adren)- A husky black woman, of about 30, Latonya is the least approachable member by far. She has a condescending tone that make others want to avoid her when possible. She wears a ladie's leather jacket over a black sweater and a pair of blue jeans. Her earrings are large golden hoops with the letters "Latonya" between the circles.
The Goat-Getters
A motley crew of young Garou who follow, of all possible totems, Goat, these Garou have a strong rebellious streak in them, possibly as a reflection of their totem's stubborn nature. They display a cavalier attitude towards many of the traditions of the Garou, and only pay lip service to the Litany. However, they seem whole-heartily dedicated to protecting Gaia, and fighting the Wyrm.

  • Alan "Totem-Picker" Hoofs-(Metis, Galliard, Bone Gnawer, Cliath)- Dressed as a bright-eyed youth still in his teens, Alan remains baby-faced with a mop of brown hair beneath a baseball cap. His t-shirts are slightly too large for him, and his baggy jeans are held in support by a frayed belt, which help to hide his birth deformity, a pair of rather large goat hooves where feet should be. Alan is quite well-versed in Garou lore, having grown up within a proper sept during his childhood, and his fellow young pack members happily follow his lead.
  • Christian "Heart-on-Fire" Radcliff- (Homid, Philodox, Child of Gaia, Cliath)-In his mid 20s, Christian has a ponytail of jet-black hair, wears a pair of glasses that shift with him in all forms, and an average build. He dresses casually, favoring simple pants and plain t-shirts with a leather vest. He is perhaps the most quiet of his rowdy pack, and seems to spend much of his time reading books covering a range of occult topics, usually about his Wiccan faith.
  •  Zoey "Makes-Boys-Cry"- (Homid, Ahroun, Black Fury, Cliath)- Short, toned, and tanned, Zoey is a native-born Australian who migrated to America. She has a main of brown hair, and is more than capable and willing to hold her own in a fight with other Garou, especially males, whom she seems to enjoy challenging
  • Jeremiah "Spiritstorm" Shepherd- (Homid, Theurge, Silent Strider, Cliath)- A good-looking young man with wavy sandy brown hair and a wide smile. He has one light green eye, and the other is a strange, somewhat milky-color, although it seems to be fully functional. Jeremiah prefers to wear solid colored earth-colored shirts beneath his tan duster. He carries with him a gnarled walking stick, which has the symbol of the Silent Striders carved into it near the base.
  • . "Amber-Eyes-Piercing-Deception"- (Lupus, Ragabash, Uktena, Cliahth)- A mahogany colored wolf with appropriately colored eyes, this she-wolf appears as a young Mexican woman wearing a pink longskirt, and white-button up western shirt decorated with embroidered flowers. She seems to have adapted remarkably well to posing as a human when the need arises.

Sheila "Won't-Back-Down" Winters explains the Triat.

After another full day of traveling through the wild, Sheila "Won't-Back-Down", who you have learned is a Galliard of the Black Furies, and pack alpha of The Winds of Change pack, has decided to allow everyone a rest. The Bone Gnawers seem particularly uncomfortable, being so far away from their native environment. Grandfather Beasly, whom the other Garou have taken to calling "Grandfather Silvertorn", has spent the better part of the trip coughing and wheezing.

As the large group comes to rest, Sheila shifts into her homid form, that of a very attractive woman, her body exceptionally toned. Her complexion is olive-skinned, with raven black should-length hair that has a certain sheen to it. Her eyes are narrow, and astonishingly green. She wears a plain black sports bra, and black capri pants with black skele-toe "shoes". A glint catches your eye, and you notice a highly stylized weapon hanging at her hip by leather thongs. Too big to be a dagger, and too small to be a full sword, it's blade seems to made of silver, rather than steel, and you can see a glyph carved onto the pommel.

Her packmate, Matteo "Old Steady Hands" shifts as well, he is a white male, tall and thin, his upper lip hidden behind a thick mustache which is as black as his wavy head of hair. He wears a black turtle neck, and black denim jeans.

The other Black Fury, "Never-Breaks-A-Pact, Never Forgets-A-Grudge" remains in her her lupus form, which is a mottled brown and gray, and pads around the campsite, sniffing here and there as if in search of something.

The pack's last member, "Splinters-The-Rotting-Oak" shifts as well, appearing as a stocky black woman of perhaps 30 years of age. She is dressed in a black sweater, blue denim jeans, and has a large pair of hoop earrings, with the name "Latonya" in the middle of the circle. She looks around, and her face contorts into a sneer as she mutters something to herself and then goes and sits down with her back against a tree.

Crazy-Heart seems content to rest in his lupus form, and the Union St. Goodfellows all shift to homid as they sit a small distance away from the rest of the group.

"Cubs, come with me and help me collect sticks and logs suitable for a fire. We're going to bed down here tonight, and I expect it to get cold. Now that we aren't traveling, I can answer some of your questions. I'm sure the first thing you want to know is why we're out here.Your Bone Gnawer babysitters were smart enough to realize that the little light display that occurred in your town was a manifestation of the Wyld. Why do you have that stupid look on your face? They didn't explain the Triat to you? Ugh. I'll give you the short version.

The first creation of Gaia was The Wyld,. That's W-Y-L-D. It is essentially the force of creation, in it's purest form. Unlimited energy, potential, the raw stuff of the universe. That's the best way to understand a primal force of the universe. We really have no other way to explain it.

Gaia was happy with this creation at first, for it made many, many beautiful things. But those things didn't last, and were constantly broken down, and reshaped. Gaia desired some sort of stability for the Wyld's best creations, so that they might be enjoyed at length and observed, allowed to grow on their own.

So, Gaia created The Weaver. The Weaver was to be the force of stability, spinning it's webs around the Wyld's creation so they would stay in existence for Gaia's pleasure. The Wyld, being an unthinking being with a chaoitc mindset we can't even begin to understand, really didn't take notice. There was no shortage of raw matter, and it carried on it's work. The Wyld created, The Weaver maintained.

And Gaia was happy for a time, but it noticed that The Weaver was unable to discern between that which was worth keeping, and that which was better off destroyed. The Weaver spun it's webs over everything. Gaia knew that if this were allowed to continue, that there would be far too many things in existence.

Gaia created her third child, The Wyrm. The Wyrm was to be a force of destruction, in order to balance raw creation and bounded things. And for eons and eons, this balance was peacefully maintained.

Now this is where the story gets mucky. Noone, spirit or Garou, knows why, or exactly when, but at some point, The Weaver began to grow angry that it's efforts to give shape were done in vain, as The Wyrm would destroy that which was deemed necessary. The Weaver began to re-double it's efforts and giving shape to the Wyld's energy, but The Wyrm kept pace, balancing the other two forces. Taking it upon itself to protect that which it had spun into stability, The Weaver began to spin it's webs around The Wyrm. At first, The Wyrm was able to resist, destroying all that would bind it. But destruction is a mindless, and unorganized effort. The Weaver, it's mind having become calculating and precise by this time, was quickly able to outwit and outpower The Wyrm...partially. The Wyrm became entangled, and for the first time in it's existence...it became sentient. It thrashed and fought against the webs, and as it began to acknowledge that it was trapped, it slowly grew insane at both the inability to free itself, and the inability to carry out it's Gaia-given purpose.

And so, to this day, The Wyrm reaches out and grabs whatever it might. Humans, The Weaver's creations, and yes, even Garou, and seeks to corrupt them, for it cannot create anything of it's own. I have heard the mad rambling of Wyrmspawn. Those that have gained a higher level of insight believe that the evil things they do are done in an effort to tear the Wyrm free of the Weaver's Web, so that it might destroy all of creation by freeing the Wyrm. Well, that's what some of them believe anyways. But what they believe doesn't matter. It is our duty as Garou to combat the Wyrm wherever it dwells, and find a way to restore balance. Or die trying."

Sheila allows a moment for this to sink in before speaking again.

"And so, that brings us to the reason we're out here. Those lights above your city last week were some sort of manifestation of Wyld energy. This day in age, The Wyld is by far the weakest of the Triat. In order to make an effort to restore balance, however small it might be, we need to seek out this energy, or perhaps it is a spirit, and see if we can ally with it, or at least harness it."

"To what ends, you ask? Ahhh yes, A Shadow Lord through and through you are. I'm not sure. The Wyld is a difficult thing to make use of, and is often uncooperative, even if our intentions are to strengthen it. Unlike the others in the Triat, it has no real 'mind' to speak of. It's actions are unguided, and it cannot even act in it's own self-interest. It simply does. As a Black Fury, I belong to special group within the tribe that is exceptionally sensitive to seeking out these energies, or types of spirits and making use of them. If we are successful in harnessing it, it will be a major boon to the Garou nation. So, now that you have some idea of what we're looking for, focus your senses, and stop your whining. We have a war to win."

Current XP & Renown

Updated the XP & Renown list from an hour ago, to reflect renown earned from the last game.
Remember: Renown fluctuates. Even if other Garou are not around to see your actions, the spirits see all. While you will earn renown for honorable, glorious, or wise actions, you can similarly lose renown for dishonorable, cowardly, or unwise actions, regardless of your intentions. This is a part of Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Use it to flesh out your character's personality more. No whining.

Javier "Miscellaneous-Parts", Galliard of the Union St. Goodfellows passes the time with a story.

As your motley crew sits around the bus stop, waiting for the rest of the Union Street Goodfellows to show up, Kato pulls out a large jug of water, and carries it over to Grandfather Beasly. "Grandfather Silvertorn-rhya," he says, using the Elder's deed name, Silvertorn, followed by some sort of suffix title you haven't heard before.  "Drink." Grandfather Beasly takes the jug, unscrews the cap, and takes a deep gulp. "You're a good boy, Kato." He pats the young Asian man on the back. Kato smiles as he takes a gulp himself. He passes the jug to Javier, who drinks, and then passes it to Kristy. Kristy goes to drink from the jug, but pauses just as it touches her lips. "Antwon, here, you drink first. You did a great job today.  You earned it." She says, smiling and handing the jug to Antwon.

The sun shines brightly down on you, but the wind is gusty and chilly. "Hey, amigos." Says Javier after some time of silence. "How would you like to hear a story? It's a good story, about us Bone Gnawers." He says, smiling, his accent thick with his Mexican heritage.

"Javier, I don't think it's wise..." Speaks Grandfather Beasly

"Grandfather, I promise, it's not a teaching story. It's just the story I was told as a cub...too help explain how our tribe came to our totem." Grandfather Beasly seems to think on this a moment, as he gives Javier a reproachful glare. Javier glances down uncomfortably,  silent rebuke passing from the white haired old man wearing a long maroon scarf, to the middle-aged mexican man in oil-stained coveralls, full of wrenches and screwdrivers.

"Fine, Javier. Go ahead." He says, his face softening.

"Thank you, Silvertorn-rhya" Javier turns to you, and clears his throat...

"Way back before men started writing down their history on paper, or even had paper, or even knew what writing was, the world was a very different place. We didn't have the gauntlet separating things like it does now, and spirits roamed between the Umbra and the real world as they willed. The Weaver wasn't the power controlling monster it is today, and The Wyrm hadn't become caught up in it's web and gone insane either.

Anyways, the world was a much more harmonious place back then. The first wolf pack, that is, those wolves born directly from Gaia's tummy, were the most loved of all her children, more so than patient bear, or secretive cat, or noisy raven. Wolf was Gaia's most wild, ferocious child, but he was also the most loyal, the one most dedicated to protecting his Mother at all costs.

The first wolf pack roamed the earth as they willed, going wherever they might, for none could slow down their travels. They were led by Alpha Wolf, for he has been given the right to rule by being the first born of the first wolf pack. He was the biggest, and his fur was thick and luxurious, and the color of silver, not gray, or white, but of silver. And Alpha Wolf led the first pack, choosing where in the wide world they traveled, and what they hunted and who got to eat first and who ate the most.

And then there was Beta Wolf. His coat was as black as night, his eyes piercing and deadly. Beta Wolf was to test Alpha Wolf, and to make sure he stayed a strong leader, unless he grow lazy and incompetent.

There were many wolves beneath Beta Wolf, who he also had to keep in line, when Alpha Wolf found it beneath himself to do so. But of all the wolves lower than Beta Wolf, none were as lowly as Omega Wolf.

Omega Wolf was scrawny, for he always ate last, picking over the last  bits of the kill, taking what none of the other wolves wanted. His pelt was shaggy and uneven in places, for he slept in the worst places, and frequently had to deal with fleas and mange. And his coloring was a mottled coat of many colors, for pedigree was poor. But still, Omega Wolf knew his place, even as the lowest of the low, he was still a part of the first pack, and served a purpose.

One day, Beta Wolf got it in his mind to test Alpha Wolf's wisdom. Or, perhaps, he just enjoyed pissing Alpha Wolf off. Either way, he went to Alpha Wolf and spoke to him. "Strong and wise Alpha Wolf, you have been ordained by Falcon to be leader, and have taken him into your heart. He guides you and teaches you what it means to be king, does he not?" Beta Wolf said with a sly grin.

"This is true. Falcon is the greatest of all Gaia's spirit. It is through him, that my leadership over the pack is ordained."

"Ahhh, a mighty spirit Falcon truely is. For he soars in Gaia's sky, and he is fierce is combat, and full of wisdom on all things of Gaia, and yet he remains humble enough to lend his blessing to you, Alpha Wolf." Said Beta Wolf, his voice full of guile. "But I have spoken with another at length, and I believe him to be a much greater spirit. Stormcloud is greater than falcon in all things, for he soars miles above even Falcon, Stormcloud is invincible in combat, for no claw or fang can hurt him, Stormcloud is full of dark omens and portents that not even Falcon has been made aware of, all this and yet Stormcloud will only act as a herald for Thunder, proving that even his humility is greater still. Surely, you must see that Stormcloud is the greater of spirits, and since he is the herald of Thunder, he who I have chosen to honor and emulate, than I must be greater than you."

Alpha wolf grew incensed by these accusations,  believing Beta Wolf to have overstepped his duties. "I will go to Stormcloud, and demand answers from him on behalf of Falcon. And after I have proven him to be lesser than Falcon, I will return here to teach you the same lesson." And so, angry Alpha Wolf led his pack to the highest mountain peak, for Stormcloud truely did soar high. At the peak of the mountainside, he howled out to Stormcloud, a howl of defiance and challenge. Taking an interest, Stormcloud spoke to Alpha Wolf, so far beneath him.

"Why have you come to me, demanding answers?" Spoke Stormcloud.
"Beta Wolf says that you are mightier than Falcon in all ways, and I will prove him wrong." And Alpha Wolf sprang forth, clawing and biting at Stormcloud, but to no success, he simply passed through Stormcloud and suffered many wounds as he fell down the mountainside he had struggled to climb. Getting up and badly wounded, Stormcloud unleashed a torrent of rain upon the foolish Alpha Wolf. Alpha Wolf went into a murderous frenzy at this, and howled all manner of insults and threats at Stormcloud. Stormcloud heard these, and called upon the power of his patron, mighty Thunder, who reached out and struck Alpha Wolf temporarily deaf. And still Alpha Wolf raged. The two mighty spirits working in concert, brought down mighty lightning on Alpha Wolf, burning off all of his fur, and leaving him unconscious and sick.

Alpha Wolf awoke from his injuries, just as the first wolf pack came down from the mountain to check on him. Although badly hurt, what suffered more was Alpha Wolf's ego. This was not helped by Beta Wolf's wide and knowing smirk. A long conversation took place between Alpha Wolf and Beta Wolf, but neither would share their talks with the rest of the wolf pack. Alpha Wolf, badly hurt, and full of rage caused by Beta Wolf looked for an outlet of his rage.

He found Omega Wolf, sleeping comfortably in a glade, and minding his own business. He unleashed his rage, and charged Omega Wolf, terrifying him awake, and tearing at his flank. Omega Wolf fought to defend himself, but suffered great wounds at the gnashing teeth of Alpha Wolf. In the struggle, his paws were badly mangled by the angry Alpha Wolf. When Alpha Wolf had sufficiently let out his frustration on Omega Wolf, he left him bleeding and mangled in the glade he had found him. Alpha Wolf called out to the rest of his pack, who fell in line, and left Omega Wolf to his fate.
Omega Wolf suffered greatly, for a wolf with wounded paws cannot keep up with his pack, and is sure to die. Omega Wolf knew this, and became resigned to his fate. He lay down into the soft grass of the glade, and turned his mind on to all things of Gaia. After a time, a small spirit came wandering through the glade and happened upon Omega Wolf in his bloody, near-death state. The spirit, cautiously approached Omega Wolf.

"Oh, great offspring of Gaia, who is most favored by the Mother, what has happened that you would be in such a sorry state?" asked the small spirit.

"It is true. I am the most favored of my Mother, but I am the least of her pack. Our great Alpha was challenged and greatly embarassed by the Beta. Being the most unworthy, he directed his full rage at me, and has left me like this, cast out to die slowly."

The small spirit thought on this. The Wolf Pack, like the spirit itself, was of Gaia, but was still a predator. Small spirits such as itself had to be most careful around predator spirits, for some were crafty, and capable of speaking falsehoods to gain sympathy, in order for quick and easy meals.

"No good leader should leave a family member to die such a pointless death." said the small spirit.

"I most whole-heartedly agree," said Omega Wolf, "But that that does not make him a bad leader. I would still follow Alpha Wolf, if only I could still run, for he is wolf as I am wolf, even if he does not appreciate my role."

The small spirit thought on this as she surveyed the bloody and damaged body of Omega Wolf.

"Omega Wolf, you show great loyalty to your kin, even as they do not show you the same. I will place myself at great risk in order to heal you so that you may run
with your pack." And the small spirit danced over to Omega Wolf, and used its' Gaia-granted powers to mend Omega Wolf's paws, and other wounds. Omega Wolf rose shakily to his feet, in awe of the small spirits great power to heal him and restore him whole, body and soul.

"Never before has a spirit shown me such kindness. I am once again healthy, and can run with my wolf pack again. I will never forget this, small spirit, nor will I allow my pups to forget. From this day forward, we shall honor you, if you would only have us." Said Omega Wolf, showing submission to the spirit.

And since that day, Bone Gnawers revere Mother Rat as our tribal totem, much as the Silver Fangs revere Falcon, and the Shadow Lords revere Grandfather Thunder. Mother Rat heals our wounds, both physically, and spiritually, wounds dealt to us by both the Wyrm, and by our own kind. Like her, we are humble, and accepting of our role in life. And like her, we focus on helping those who can't help themselves, even if the other tribes just want to shit all over....

"Javier!" Shouts out Grandfather Beasly, cutting him off. "That's a good stopping point. Thank you for sharing that with us. Look, I think I see the rest of the pack headed this way..."
